We’re Here – Kelsterbach, Sunday, May 16

Miles and Ray and I arrived from Calgary at about noon. We were the last to arrive. Pat and Kathleen arrived yesterday morning, Lee yesterday afternoon, Trevor and Betty early this morning, Mary Ann by train later in the morning, and Bob, Sandy, and Shirley a couple of hours ahead of we three guys. Frank and Nora Ann will join us later from France where they are visiting a relative.

Several of us wandered over to a neighbourhood pub where we had soup and drinks and got acquainted. We hired a bus to take us to the centre of the old town around 4:30. We explored for a couple of hours and then reconvened for supper at a quaint restaurant. The bus picked us back up at 8:30 and we were back at the hotel by 9. We are all pretty pooped. I don’t think anyone went out to party!

We are in Kelsterbach, a small community immediately next to Frankfurt airport comprised of low rise hotels and office buildings with some light industrial uses that enjoy proximity to an airport. Weather is good – temperature around 20 degrees C, mostly sunny, with a breeze that wasn’t really noticeable unless you were in the open, such as on the bridge over the Main River.
